Philharmonia Northwest closes its 50th season with a bang, together with Kirkland Choral Society in Kenmore’s stunning new Northshore Concert Hall. The orchestra channels April in the Pacific Northwest with Ernest Bloch’s Winter-Spring, a mysterious yet spritely work influenced by French Romanticism. Two stunning choral-orchestral works anchor the program: Ralph Vaughan Williams’s Dona Nobis Pacem, a soulful plea for peace in 1930s Europe; and Tarik O’Regan’s Triptych, a wide-ranging work inspired by North African rhythms and the vibrant culture of New York City.
