Philharmonia Northwest closes its season with Kirkland Choral Society, a triumphant return to Benaroya Hall, and a fond farewell to outgoing KCS Director Glenn Gregg. Bach’s glorious early cantata, Nach dir, Herr, verlanget mich; Beethoven’s sublime Choral Fantasy, with piano soloist Craig Sheppard; and Brahms’ Nänie, a soulful meditation on death based on poetry by Friedrich Schiller. The concert also features the Puget Sound premiere of Say Your Name, a stunning new cantata about resilience in the fight for democracy, by Seattle Symphony composer-in-residence Reena Esmail.
